Rules for Use
These rules protect customers, businesses, public data providers, and Garage Talk. By using the finder, you agree to use it lawfully and responsibly.
1. Age and lawful use
You must be at least 13 years old. Do not use the finder to break the law, harass a business, impersonate another person, collect personal information improperly, or interfere with the service.
2. Directory accuracy
Business names, locations, services, hours, phone numbers, emails, websites, ratings, and other details may be incomplete, outdated, contributed by the public, or supplied by third parties. Verify important information directly with the business before traveling, purchasing, scheduling, or relying on it.
3. Repair and safety decisions
The finder is a discovery service, not a mechanic, emergency service, warranty provider, or substitute for a qualified inspection. Follow manufacturer procedures, use proper protective equipment, secure vehicles safely, and consult a qualified professional when work affects brakes, steering, fuel, electrical, structural, lifting, emissions, or other safety systems. Call emergency services for emergencies.
4. Location controls
Device location is optional. The browser asks for permission after you select “Use my location.” You are responsible for your browser and device permissions. Do not use the finder while driving or operating equipment.
5. Business and owner conduct
Do not submit false ownership claims, misleading business information, fake reviews, unlawful offers, or intellectual property you do not have the right to use. A future claim-and-correct process may require verification.
6. Automated access
Do not scrape, bulk-download, reverse engineer, overload, bypass limits, probe security, or use automated tools against the finder without written authorization. Respect Google, OpenStreetMap, Nominatim, business websites, and other third-party terms.
7. Third-party services
Google Maps, Google Places, OpenStreetMap, Nominatim, telephone carriers, email providers, Discord, and linked business websites operate independently. Garage Talk does not control their content, availability, transactions, warranties, privacy, or security.
8. Suspension and changes
Garage Talk may limit or block use that threatens people, businesses, data providers, or service reliability. Rules may change as the finder develops. Continued use after an updated effective date means you accept the revised rules where permitted by law.
